Decontrust is a game created to challenge social norms and gain insight into social behaviour through design. The card game is designed to encourage carefree, laid back behaviour in people by helping them take practical steps to be braver and more conscious towards other people while discouraging anti- social behaviour in public places.
I wanted to challenge the constructs of interacting with strangers and encourage people to be creative and have fun. The product is aimed mainly at student demographic. I have created multiple iterations of the game based on the feedback received from user testing.
The name to Decontrust came from the phrase ‘deconstructing constructs’ - as the game forces you to break the constructs we learn throughout our lives.
To make the cards more connected and consistent, I decided to choose one character from my designs and adapt other cards for this character. I experiment with various graphics and colour schemes to find the best one that reflects the mood of the game.
